Getting started early in the day, we met Rosemary to open our bank accounts. After that was done, we had another look at the apartment close to Tompkins Square Park again (the one we found on our own). We liked it but the ceilings were quite low and the kitchen / living space was rather small. Alex almost touched walls and ceilings. In addition, the building was not a beauty. However, the view from the rooftop was quite impressive.
We then drove once again to Dumbo to get to know the area a bit, basically to whitewash our decision to put in a costly application. We went into local supermarkets, walked the streets, were annoyed by the noise and took a break at One Girl Cookies with hot chocolate and Cappuccino.
On the way back to our Airbnb Alex made a stop at the Barber and got a fresh haircut, it has become some kind of a tradition to visit a local barber whenever we are in a new country. It’s a fun way to dive into everyday live and learn about the culture. The name of the shop was very unique: Original barber shop
