This week Alex and Franzi basically met in the air – Franzi was in Madison from Monday to Thursday, Alex was in NY and flew to Chicago on Thursday night since he had a training on Product Design and Value Engineering on Friday. The training was hands-on and a welcome change from consultant everyday life. By disassembling two commercially available drones the group talked through the principles of value engineering, how to avoid over-specification, how to reduce cost and how to potentially improve revenue.
On Saturday we had a dinner date with our colleague Oleg & his boyfriend. We started off at our place with some Olives and Aperol Spritz, then had dinner at Franks and ended the night with a couple a drinks at The Boiler Room.
The weekend was incredibly hot, so on Sunday we decided to do a quick trip to the beach. We chose the one we could get to the fastest, since we didn’t want to stay too long, so we went to Coney Island. It’s quite touristic and crowded. If you walk a bit further away from the crowd, the beach itself is very nice and it’s a good place for a quick dip in the ocean. In the evening, Alex met up with our friend Jay.
