We kicked-off the weekend with a dinner at Frank’s between 5th and 6th street on 2nd avenue. The restaurant feels like eating at a smaller family owned true Italian place. The pasta was easily one of the best pastas we ever had, and the weather even allowed us to sit outside.
With a full stomach, we dove into our Saturday and met a colleague of ours for coffee at Think Coffee, a chain that serves decent coffee made with actual barista equipment (other than the coffee you would get at Starbucks etc). He also transferred to the New York Office from Berlin in fall 2018, so it’s great to discuss our first experiences. A coffee turned into lunch at B Bar & Grill, which has a lovely patio and a great spicy crispy chicken burger.
For the night, we went to The PIT, a stand-up comedy club. To be honest we did not love the show, but that happens, and the atmosphere was cool despite. We originally thought the night is over, but we spontaneously met up with a friend of Alex’s he met at his motorcycle safety school. Since he is a DJ, we joined him at the PUBLIC Hotel Rooftop Club. A cool place with a spectacular view. We later moved into the cellar club and ended the night at another club in Williamsburg – definitely a great experience to get to know the club scene with some insiders!
Sunday was a rest day spent with errands, organizing, cleaning and strolling around the neighborhood (including some birding).
The only exciting thing that happened was that Alex got a new camera lens for his Fuji camera. Unfortunately it was a bit rainy when he went out to pick it up…
