More Germans in New York City

As always, the next week started off with travel – Alex flew to Detroit early in the morning and came back in the evening, Franzi flew to Madison in the evening. We missed each other barely – Alex got to the gate at La Guardia and Franzi was right behind him on the runway, unfortunately in another plane into another direction.

So close and yet so far
Winter time in Madison

Alex spent the rest of the week in New York and Franzi made it back Thursday night from winterly Madison. It was another troubled travel adventure, with an originally early flight, which got cancelled and ended up in a drive to Milwaukee and a delayed flight from there, causing a 14-hour journey from Madison to New York.

On Friday, we had friends over – Constantin and his girlfriend Karolina, Edward and Anita, and Fabi. After an Aperitivo at our place we had dinner at Mighty Quinns Barbeque and ended the night at Bar Veloce with some wine.

Great to have some friends over

Saturday morning Franzi unfortunately got sick so she stayed in while Alex met the same group and two additional friends, Joern and his friend, at Lil’ Frankie’s to indulge in some Italien goodness.

After a quick visit to the Public Hotel Saturday night, Sunday was spent with a breakfast at Gran Torino in Williamsburg. Brooklyn (as Manhattan) was busy that day due to the Brooklyn Marathon.

We ended the weekend with a homemade Risotto.
