During the next week, Franzi was in St. Louis. A couple of morning runs allowed to see the city and the famous Gateway Arch in the sunrise light. It is the world’s tallest arch (630-foot, 192 m) , the tallest man-made monument in the Western Hemisphere, and Missouri’s tallest accessible building. It symbolizes literally the Gateway to the West.
Did you know St. Louis is the most dangerous city in the US? Crime in the city increased from the 1960s through the early 1990s followed by a decline in crime rates through 2014. Despite decreasing crime, rates of violent crime and property crime remain higher than the national average. The city has been continuously ranked as the most dangerous city in the US – as of 2017, St. Louis has the highest murder rate in America (205 murders in 2017). Well, Franzi did not know and in retrospect the morning runs might not have been the greatest idea.
In New York, Alex received a couple of gadgets for his motorcycle in the mail which he installed during the week in the evenings.
Before leaving St. Louis on Thursday, Franzi went to Wafflehouse with her team for lunch to celebrate a successful SteerCo with some Hashbrowns & Waffles!
On Saturday, we had an awesome company event – the office organizes a boat tour each year for our summer interns. We were invited to join and the timing for the ride could not have been more perfect – the weather was great, and the light was gorgeous. We admired the views, had a good dinner and some drinks. This was also the night of a quite wide-spread power outages in the city. We didn’t really notice any of it, except for seeing a rather dark upper west side from the boat.
On Sunday, Alex went to the Curbside D’Elegance Custom Bike Show in Brooklyn with Jay and we ended the night with a home-cooked meal.
